In a world torn apart by unseen explosions, where the familiar has turned to dust and shadow, a new order rises from the chaos. The United Cities of America (USA) now clings to survival, spread across isolated outposts, broken highways, and ravaged landscapes. The skies wept Timefall, the rain that ages and corrodes, and shadows moved in the darkness creatures that slipped in from another realm, ghosts of death itself.

But among the ruin, there is hope. Hope carried by the bravest Porters. Men and women who risk everything to deliver medicine, food, weapons, blood anything needed to stitch together the remnants of humanity. Their most sacred tool the BBs Bridge Babies. Infants suspended between life and death, linked to their Porter in a bond deeper than technology, capable of sensing what the naked eye cannot. These BBs are not just lifelines; they are fragile bridges between what was, and what must still be.

This is the story of Sam Porter Bridges: a man tasked with reconnecting the fractured network of civilization. A courier forced to traverse wastelands haunted by the dead, betrayal, and secrets too heavy for one heart. With every shipment, every footstep, Sam will face choices that decide whether humanity rebuilds... or collapses.

Trigger warning - Severely sensitive topics. Around 25 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth- targeting none other than the cells responsible for constructing one's genetic code. Humans, animals, plants- any living matter that comes in contact with it quickly faces its immense mutational power, sparking nothing but unruly destruction. This living nightmare demanded more than a simple adaptation, it forced a complete overhaul on daily life. Yet, despite humanity's best efforts to adapt to this new system- cities plummeted to the ground, nations were obliterated in chaotic arrays of fire, countries infected by the scourge of madness brought about by meaningless war. Humanity was driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to survive these conditions, humanity came up with something to protect them. Colonies. A radius considered a "Safe Zone", as it incapacitates any infected attempting to breach its perimeter. Its the perfect environment to rebuild what's left of society. On the flip-side, the infected create nests of their own, producing genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension, and attracting many others of their kind. It is assumed that their sole objective is to propagate. Consume. These are called "Contamination Zones", and their increased numbers have caused dozens of Colonies, and outposts alike, to suffer breaches and irreversible changes all over the continent. The infected are ruthlessly growing stronger. Rhys, the Warden of Zamaton Colony, has taken measures to prevent the catastrophic events from ever reaching their quiet life, where Kayden Moss, the survivalist in question, has lived for the past 3 years. If all goes well, they'll avoid these breaches, Or so it seems...

What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. She would soon find out just how far people would go to ensure their own survival. -------------- Please check out my first finished novel. Nobody said being part of a military branch, the Survey Corps, which has the highest kill-rate among all those you could have chosen, would be the same that'd make your past resurface unbidden. Having run from your homeland into the dangerous embrace of armed forces was your only way to escape what previously seemed inescapable - being seen as nothing but a plaything for your family. Rape, loss of loved ones, alcoholics in the family beating you almost daily. Everything you swore to abandon you came back to you in the form of dreams. Defending humanity from its biggest threat, gigantic humanoid creatures which are called 'Titans' seemed like your only way out. Dying here wouldn't be here at the hands of those you had to call kin, at least. Training by oneself alone won't do the trick. So, the Commander assigned you his best soldier as your mentor. A grumpy, blunt, vulgar and aloof bastard with an affinity for cleaning and tea was the man who would watch over your every step in order to become one of humanity's most valuable soldiers. Yet, day by day, restless nights keep you awake. Trauma keeps you away from food you once could eat without a problem. And someone who shouldn't make it 𝘢𝘯𝘺 of his business. The 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 person who should 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦, began to visit you regularly at night, when sleep evaded you. Slowly, a professional boundary merged with unforeseen affection you've never been shown before. Started~ Nov 12 2021 Finished~ Dystopia: an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. "Do you love me, Cadet?" Why? That seemed to be a question you've been asking yourself a lot lately. Growing up in the underground was tough. You needed to fight for survival, food, money, and even-your freedom. Danny, you're despicable "father", had you stealing from him any chance he got. He was slick and manipulative. Having to steal valuables for him all while taking care of two kids, Kai and Mary, was really hard. The responsibility you held was weighing down on you, making you think more about them and less about you. You didn't mind though. Anything to stay away from the sinful place you call home. After a while of putting up with Danny though, you had you're last straw ripped away when he hurt you're beloved Mary. You ran away to start a new life, taking Mary with you. You become known as "Shade", a mysterious cloaked criminal known for your stealth and strength. You took pride in your reputation, and the best part was, nobody knew anything about you. From your face down to you're gender, it was all concealed. It was all cloaked. But all this changed once they found you. They took you in, capturing you to mold you into a soldier fighting for the survey corps. You despised the survey corps at first. After all, they stole you from your home. Took you away from the people you loved. They ruined your life, right? But... did they? You're stubbornness and skill capture the attention of a certain short black haired male. Corporal Levi was humanities strongest though, he couldn't like you, could he? He couldn't... At first it seemed strange but pleasant to finally get noticed, but soon you realized, nothing good came from the Corporal. In fact, your life seemed to turn into a living Dystopia.
