Sacred Heart is a plausible near-future struggle in America. After two decades of 50/50 division, polarization, and political instability, neither party can maintain control for more than one term; the people pay the price. Washington is destroying the country one election cycle at a time.

In the future, technology is our hope, our savior, and our enslaver. The surveillance state is ever-present in our lives, providing security and peace of mind for those who trust the system, and a sense of dread for those who don't.

The war on drugs is over. Drugs won. The war on poverty is lost. Millions struggle week to week and month to month. The middle class is shrinking at an alarming rate. Millions more live on the edge, surviving day to day. The war on crime rages on in the streets. The police are outgunned.
