Post-Civil War, she refuses to sign the Sokovia Accords, gets stamped a fugitive, the Avengers split like a bad haircut, and Bucky voluntarily re-freezes in Wakanda--- because apparently he ghosts and hibernates the second she admits she's falling for him.
Steve/Tony? Cracked. SHIELD? Cratered. Bucky's mind? A maze with teeth.
But Emmie? She's always been good at fixing broken things.
So she heads to Hell's Kitchen to hire the best broke lawyers in town and starts patching holes with whiteboards, bad coffee, and questionable decisions.
Along the way, she picks up more than she bargained for: hope, friends, and maybe a coping mechanism...with benefits.
