I stood there, trembling slightly, my heart threatening to burst from my chest. The world around us seemed to blur, leaving only him - his presence, his warmth, the steady rhythm of his breathing. My voice came out barely a whisper, fragile, almost breaking under the weight of my longing.
"Kya mein tumhare seene par sar rakh kar aakhri baar tumhari dhadkan sun sakti hu?"

(Can I... can I rest my head on your chest and hear your heartbeat... one last time?)

I asked, each word soaked in fear and desperation. I felt as if if I spoke any louder, the fragile moment would shatter into pieces.

Mihir looked at me then. He didn't speak immediately. He just held my gaze, his eyes searching mine as if trying to memorize every fragment of me, every silent plea in my soul. And then, in that gentle, quiet tone that cut deeper than any scream, he said,

"Tumne agar meri dhadkan aakhri baar sun li toh tumhari dhadkan humesha ke liye ruk jaayegi."

(If you hear my heartbeat one last time... your heartbeat will stop forever).

The words sank into me like ice, freezing everything inside me, yet setting my heart ablaze in a strange, unbearable ache. I felt a shiver run down my spine, but I couldn't pull away. Somehow, I wanted to feel him, wanted to feel the warmth of his chest beneath my head, even if it meant risking everything.

                                  -----------

What will happen if, with just one glance at someone, a person's life changes? How did that one look make that person fall to their knees in prostration? Will she be able to forget that single gaze that made her a prisoner forever? Was that meeting of eyes the will of the God, or just a lesson for her?

"I don't love you," I declare. He smiled at me, though his expression was tinged with pain, tears pooling in the depths of his eyes. "I knew it, you still love me so much." I was rendered speechless by his declaration, my efforts to conceal my emotions proving futile as he effortlessly deciphered the truth written in my eyes. "Say it, just once, that you love me, my Sweetheart. Just once, please," he pleaded. I finally surrendered, tears misting my own eyes as all rational thoughts scattered, "I love you. I never stopped loving you." "And I love you infinitely more," he declared, leaning closer towards my lips. I placed a trembling hand over his mouth, halting him in his tracks, and shook my head slowly. "We can't. It's wrong. We can't betray our partners." *** Two hearts, torn apart by the cruel hand of fate, find themselves face to face after 4 long years. Once college sweethearts, they have now transformed into business partners. People have come and gone, circumstances have shifted, choices have been made, and personalities have evolved. But, one thing remains unchanged: their undying love for each other, that consumes them day and night to finally claim each other as their own. However, the path ahead is far from simple. Bound by commitments, every move feels like a forbidden dance. Will they muster the strength to resist their burning desire or succumb to the long lost desire for each other?

"So.. go on a date with me?" I can't stop looking at him. He's just so beautiful. As he always was-just ten years younger. Same brown eyes, same lips, that boyish charm. The only difference is the hint of innocence in his gaze and the curiosity in his expression. No doubt he's surprised by my sudden question. I can't really blame him. His boring, nonchalant classmate of one year has just asked him out after a nice evening together. But I know he'll say yes. He has to. He never said no to me. I can't wait to plan all the amazing, adventurous dates with him, to make him feel special this time-just like he did for me. I'm eager to get to know him all over again. That's when I hear mumbling. "Hmm?" I ask, not hearing him properly. "No. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested. I had a great time today, Anu, but I don't see you that way. I'll have to decline." I can hear my heart breaking. Funny, isn't it? All your life, you think: Okay, this will be my last heartbreak. This guy will be the one. He's going to make it all worth it. And then, suddenly, life throws another failed attempt at love into your bucket. If I can manage to get rejected by my husband of three years, then there probably isn't any hope for me. . . Anu had everything-power, success, and a love so deep it felt unshakable. Three years of marital bliss with Ashwin, the man who was her home, her heart, her forever. Their life was perfect, built with love, laughter, and quiet mornings wrapped in each other's warmth. But in the blink of an eye, everything vanished. She woke up not in their home, but in a college dorm. Not as the woman who ruled boardrooms, but as a twenty-year-old student. And then she saw him. Ashwin. But this Ashwin didn't know her. He wasn't her devoted husband. He was a stranger, a boy still finding his way in life. She had been thrust back into his past, into a time where she didn't belong. And the most terrifying question of all- Would he still fall in love with her?

"Siddharth..." He didn't say anything. Just walked towards me. His eyes were darker than night-intense, unreadable. Hungry. "I shouldn't have come," I whispered, my voice shaky. "This is not-" His hands circle my wrist pulling me behind the water tank, where the fading light wouldn't betray us. "You like the way they look at you, don't you?" Before I could answer, he shoved me against the wall, his body pinning mine. The rough concrete scraped my back, but the sting was nothing compared to the fire in his eyes. His eyes looked dark and dangerous. His mouth crashed into mine, claiming, punishing. I gasped, and he took it as invitation, his tongue sliding against mine with a possessiveness that left me dizzy. His hands were everywhere-tugging at my clothes, gripping my waist hard enough to bruise. I whimpered as his fingers slipped under my skirt, rough and impatient. .......... "You... you are... here." His voice came out as he whispered, surprising me. I tilted my head slightly and looked at him, responding to him. I licked my lips as I spoke back to him, "Sorry. I don't get what you are saying." I tried to keep it simple. But just as his soft fingers caressed my cheeks like a feather gracing over them, his cold fingers felt so good at the top of my heated cheeks that my body melted at his touch. "Ahh," I gasped at his sudden closeness and touch. I found myself leaning into it. He slowly leaned in, and his hot breath grazed the tops of my lips as I yearned for them to touch mine. Something then I didn't realise would cause the destruction I witnessed through the screen. ___________________________________________________________________ What happens when the villain's heart is filled with one face, the face that has guided him all his life, loved him, and been with him?
