One day, outside of the infamous Playtime co., you meet a group of living plush toys known as the nightmare critters. Once you realize they're just kids who have nobody to look out for them, you decide to take them home to care for as your own.
This was inspired by the smiling critters x mother figure reader stories, I thought it would be fitting to give the nightmare critters a father figure. And there will be some self improvement on the critters' part.

After the departure of the three siblings, the Smiling Critters find themselves involved in a dangerous adventure outside of PlayCare; threatened by the Rejected Critters, who seem to want to finish them off and take over the leadership of the group. Despite the plans, something seems to be wrong with the Smiling Critters; The group is greatly weakened and they do not seem to understand each other. Different problems are making their bonds weaker, almost breaking apart. Will they put their grudges aside and end up defeating the Rejected Critters? Or one misstep may lead to their downfall? In the big city of TFCH (The Foot of Critteriffic Heights) one cat critter in specific has been living day by day, trying to stay happy in his current household. He would constantly stay up at night, and sleep during the day to avoid any form of interactions with his parents. Why? Because they're always peckering on him to change. Despite what he tries, for whatever reason, they're too persistent. They don't let him hang around the people he want to hang around, they're always telling him to be someone he isn't, trying to change his appearance, you name 'em: They're trying to control every aspect of his life. Sometimes they'd even take drastic measures to make sure it's done. Whether it harms or not. For 13 years he has been ignored, yelled at, sometimes even beaten for being the one HE wants to be. It only takes so long for one's sanity to fade though. After an incident with one of his few best friends, he's had enough... He decided to execute a plan he had made years before. Flee... Far... Far away... past Critteriffic Heights Perhaps he could finally find someone who cares and accepts. Maybe even something he was inches away from getting right before he left. Maybe now he can be him. Somewhere else, a dog critter was walking back into his house after a long day of playing around with his friends. When he got inside, he started making his way to the bedroom to rest for the night. But in the corner of his eye, he sensed movement. He tensed up as he decided to investigate it from the window. And there he saw it...
