A love story set in Hat Yai
In the small southern town of Hat Yai, two boys grow up on the same street beneath a mango tree that leans across their shared fence.
William Jakrapatr, quiet and steady, carries the weight of a broken home - his mother bedridden in a hospital, his father a distant film director in Bangkok who sends money but no affection.
Est Supha, bright-eyed and restless, is everything William isn't: open, loved, full of plans to swim faster, to dream bigger, to see the world beyond their sleepy town.
Since childhood, they have been inseparable - walking to class together, sharing family dinners, and studying until dawn. Their bond feels safer as a secret routine of touches, laughter, and small kindnesses that fill every space of William's narrow world.
But tides always change.
When Est wins a coveted athletic-arts scholarship in Bangkok, his dream collides with William's obligation to stay beside his ailing mother. What begins as unspoken devotion turns into silence, jealousy, and distance measured in train rides and unanswered phone calls.
Separated by ambition and circumstance, they must each confront who they are without the other - the boy who can not leave and the boy who does.
Through memory, music, and the slow work of healing, "Between Tides" follows their journey from the sun-washed streets of Hat Yai to the restless lights of Bangkok, tracing the thin line between friendship and love, duty and desire, loss and the courage to begin again. This time, TOGETHER.
Young CEO Est is struggling under pressure-until a visit to the café across the street and a chance meeting with William begins to change everything.
In the heart of Bangkok's business district, best friends William and Nut open Chapters and Cups, a cozy book café where every cup of coffee comes with a handwritten message-and sometimes, a gentle nudge toward healing.
Let's see how William and Est find comfort, connection, and maybe something more... one cup at a time.
Snippet:
He walked up to the counter slowly, eyes scanning the menu, although he wasn't really reading it.
"You're new here," the barista said, already watching him.
Est looked up. "How did you know?"
The barista smiled, easy and confident. "Because I'd remember your face if you weren't."
That made Est pause. His lips twitched, amused despite himself.
"I'm William," the barista added, extending a hand. "Let me make you a drink. I've got just the thing."
Est raised an eyebrow. "Do I get to know what it is?"
"Nope," William said cheerfully. "Only question is-do you trust me?"
Est stared at him for a second, then nodded. "Surprise me."
