The house was quieter than it had ever been. Not the peaceful kind of quiet that followed laughter or bedtime stories- but the kind that came after something broke. Something that couldn't be fixed with just words. From the balcony upstairs, Anagha could still see the faint light from Abhiram's room-always the last to go off, always glowing long after everyone else had fallen asleep. She stared at it the way one stares at an old photograph, knowing it belonged to a time that wouldn't return. Three years since that afternoon when everything changed. Three years, he stayed away from the family, from his only sister. And finally, he returned home when their mom emotionally blackmailed him to come back home or that she was going to leave the home too along with their dad and move to his house leaving Anagha alone so that she gets the punishment for what she did and deserved. Three years of not living under the same roof or not sharing the same meals, didn't reduce his love for her even a tiny bit. His mom's blackmail worked, because he is too protective of his sister and couldn't let his parents leave her alone. No one remembered how the fight started anymore- only the silence that followed it. Dev and Krithya tried everything. Family dinners, quiet talks, weekend getaways, subtle interventions that almost always ended in slammed doors and tighter jaws. Abhiram's words still echoed in their minds: "Don't try to fix this, Ma. Not until she realizes what she's done." And Anagha-stubborn, wounded, proud-had said just as firmly, "I didn't do anything wrong." In between them, love turned into something fragile and sharp- a thread stretched too thin between two hearts that still beat for each other but refused to bend. And somewhere, under all that pride, both Anagha and Abhiram still waited- for the other to take the first step. Because sometimes, love doesn't fade. It just hides behind the hurt, waiting for one word brave enough to bring it home.

❝Bhoot pisach nikat nahi aavey, Mahavir jab naam sunavey...❞ It was late at night, when I heard a knock on the window. I froze hearing the knock. Slowly, I got up from my study table and tiptoed toward my bed, trying to decide if I should check the window. But something told me not to, so I climbed on the bed instead. I'm not opening that window. I know how in horror movies, the main character hears some creepy noise and runs straight towards it. Like hello? do they not care there could be a whole-ass ghost waiting to jump on them? Another knock. I squeezed my eyes shut, gripping the blanket tightly. If this is how I die, I swear I'm haunting the ghost back. I was on the verge of running to wake up my parents when I heard a sneeze and then... my name whispered slowly. "Pratiksha." It clicked in an instant. Oh god! I shot up from the bed, hurriedly unlocking and opening the window. Before I could even react, he tumbled through and fell directly on the floor with a thud. I gasped in shock, half laughing but also panicking at the sight of him in my room. "How did you-" I started to ask, but he quickly clamped his hand over my mouth. I stared at him. He leaned in closer and whispered, "Don't make noise, or we'll both be in trouble." What. Is. Happening. ~~~ If overthinking was a sport, she would have won every time. He, on the other hand, one moment, he was the smoothest guy around. The next, he was doing something completely silly just for fun. Together, they were like a perfect mess. But a twist of destiny tore them apart. Six years later, they met again, the love that once bloomed was now buried under layers of hatred, from both sides. Could they move past the hurt, the anger and the six years that had turned them into stranger?
