After his father's passing, JD inherited his father's title, becoming the young Duke of Starkett. With this came the responsibility of repaying the family's debts.
He set out for the Bounty Mercenary Guild in Valens, a city in the northeast of the Kingdom of Dela, intending to become a "bounty mercenary." He planned to take on commissions to slay various monsters, earn rewards, and revive his family. Along the way, he rescued an injured black cat, which unexpectedly became JD's traveling companion.
Seeking a large reward, JD single-handedly accepted the mission to slay the legendary monster "Baron the Serpent Demon." As JD lay dying, his black cat companion suddenly transformed into a strikingly handsome youth with jet-black short hair.
