He informs her that Xiao's soul is scattered and that the only way to save him from falling into the depths of the underworld, is to obtain the soul-refreshing stone which has the ability to gather and mend a soul. She and Paimon travel back in time to a thousand years ago, where the soul-refreshing stone had remained vital.
