Ariana Noor Van Doren. A prodigy in ballet at just nineteen, said to be a star. Yet one thing about stars is that they always burn out. A ragdoll for her father to throw around and abuse, a target of her mother's insults, commonly about her weight, and victim to a family friend who thinks of her body as something he owns.

The one solace in her life currently is her older brother, who, despite caring for and protecting her, assumes that he's lived a harder life than her and dismisses all her problems as whining. Alies Nicholas Van Doren, a menace in the ring and a well-known boxer at only twenty-four, is not unaware of his father's temper, and worries for his sister as he is going out of town for a while for an once in a lifetime oppourtunity to fight someone he's looked up to for years. Because of this, he forces Ariana to learn how to fight from his best friend.

Rowan Lance Harlan, a twenty-two-year-old champion in the ring, said to hold no remorse, whether it's for men or women, young or old. People fear him because he wants them to, so imagine his surprise when a long-time boxing partner of his, Alies, asks him to train his younger sister.
