It's been two weeks now since Elena Gilbert was put into a magical coma by a psychotic vampire/witch by the name of Kai and that she's gone her friends must figure out how to eat, sleep and survive without her. On top on grieving the loss of their beloved friend, the group has to deal with six heretics (vampire/witch hybrids) who have escaped from 1903 and intend to wreak havoc around Mystic Falls. Can Elena's friends survive her absence and defeat the heretics or will spellbinding vampire and Elena's absence be too much for them to handle. Find out in The Vampire Chronicles.
