Chapter 1 - The Notification
It started with a single notification - "Storage almost full."
Nothing dramatic, nothing poetic. Just my phone reminding me that even digital memories take up space.
So I started deleting things
Old screenshots. Random playlists. Photos of sunsets I swore I'd paint someday.
And then I found it - the voice note.
It was saved under a random file name: vn_2024-03-17-2301.
The night everything changed.
At first, I didn't even remember recording it. But when I pressed play, my voice filled the room - trembling, raw, too honest.
"Hey... I don't even know if you'll ever hear this. I just- I couldn't say it out loud. Not then."
I froze.
My heart felt like it was trying to escape through my ribs.
The sound of my own voice made me flinch - that version of me still believed things could be fixed. She didn't know that silence could be louder than words.
"You said you needed space. So I gave you galaxies."
A small, broken laugh escaped through the speaker.
God, I used to joke even when I was falling apart.
"I thought maybe if I stayed quiet long enough, you'd come back. But you didn't. So this is me... saying goodbye, I guess."
Except I never said goodbye. Not really.
Because I never sent it.
And now, one year later, I was hearing it for the first time - and realizing it wasn't just a message to him.
It was a message to myself.
The one that said: You deserve someone who doesn't make you beg to be heard.

I was kicked around like trash on the streets. I was the book that nobody could understand or read, but without a care, they were quick to rip out the pages. I screamed for attention, but time after time, I was ignored. Nobody noticed me, so I made myself at home in my own shadow.
