The echo's bond

Anya. She is a young Echo (a person who can speak the ancient language to reverse a physical object to its previous state). Her ability is viewed with suspicion by the ruling council because it can undo both blessings and curses.
She wants to keep her powers a secret while working as a restorer of ancient artifacts, hoping one day to heal her community's dwindling water source.
Kele. He is a brilliant Engineer who believes magic is a dangerous superstition. He is dedicated to solving the community's problems (like the dying water source) using cold, hard science (new pipes, mechanical filtration systems).
They are secretly and passionately in love, but their methods are fundamentally opposed.
