Beyond the surface

Standing here now, looking at the beautiful sparkling blue sea, as the sun went down with all these amazing creatures flying around in the sky, it all seemed so right, so perfect. I could still not believe that this was my life now. Completely lost in my thoughts I did not hear somebody approaching from behind. Two arms wrapped around my waist and I could feel my back pressing up against somebody’s chest. “Hey” he whispered in my ear, making me turn my head and look at him. “Hey” I replied looking into his eyes smiling softly. “What got you so deep in thought” he said smiling at me. I looked at him and replied “everything! Coming here and meeting everyone.” He chuckled and nuzzled my neck “it has been one crazy adventure, has it not?” “Well that’s the understatement of the year.” I joked, my smile getting bigger as he rolled his eyes at me. “I never thought we would actually get here” I said looking back at the sea. “I admit at one point I almost lost hope, but deep down I knew we would win” he said pulling me closer. I sighed and closed my eyes thinking back to our crazy adventure.
