Kim Minjeong openly fangirls over Yu Karina, the leading female K-pop idol who entered her golden era this year. The only thing not-so-fangirl about Minjeong is that: 1) she would never immediately blow a new paycheck on Karina's merch, and 2) Minjeong fully admits she's a superficial fan, as she's never listened to an entire song or watched a full music video of Karina's. This is a major reason Minjeong doesn't quite fit in with the rest of Karina's fandom-she even told a true die-hard fan that she 'only liked Karina because of her looks.'

Consequently, Minjeong set boundaries for herself as a fan: she only saves aesthetically pleasing images of Karina on Pinterest boards and patiently watches ads featuring Karina. As a result, she remained largely unaware of what was truly happening in Karina's life-especially the recent controversy that led to Karina's breakup with popular actor Lee Jaewook.

She also didn't expect to bump into Karina, at around 3 AM, in the local convenience store.
