Maybe Louis wanted to retell the story because he got it wrong. Maybe he felt that his memory was clearer now. Or maybe he decided it wasn't fair that he left her out. Their sunshine in the night.
Enter Catherine- the one he forgot to tell about while he was too busy focusing on Lestat. Suddenly some of the holes in the story make a little more sense to Daniel as he learns that Catherine was the one who made everything make a little more sense.
