Kaidou was drowning. Water filled his lungs and his mind was getting drowsier by the minute. Closing his eyes, he tried to swim back up but his body was helpless. He couldn't feel his muscles as they went numb. His body betrayed him, the weight of the lake dragging him down into darkness.
Opening his eyes, his vision was blurred. He had to get back up, he couldn't fail now.
However, he wasn't able to do anything; light filtered through the water, moving shapes who seemed unreachable. His eyes closed subconsciously. He felt himself falling deeper and deeper...
...until he woke up gasping in a bubble floating in the air.
And it looked like he wasn't the only one.
