Alissa Matthews has it made in life. She lives in a luxurious house owned by upper class parents who adore her. At school, the boys pawn after her and the girls scramble to be her friend. Shes beautiful with a quick wit and sense of charisma about her that's charming to some but intimidating to most so it's no surprise that she holds a high status at her school. Alissa is far from perfect, however. According to her, the whole world should revolve around her. She doesn't hold anyone's feelings in high regard and her arrogance allows her no room for humility. Alissa looked down on those she felt were below her, which was most people. She picked at every little thing about someone. If someone doesn't measure up to her royalty high standards, then they were trash to her and she would treat them as such. When Alissa gets pulled from the top of the pyramid that she grew so comfortable on and her perfect world and beloved status begins to fall apart, she finds comfort and companionship from a very unlikely person and a love that brings her relief, but inches her closer to destruction.
