After years away, Sol Siglos returns to Dumaguete-a city that holds both her fondest memories and deepest scars. Once abandoned and broken by the death of her mother, she hopes to start anew, leaving her past behind. But fate has other plans. One fateful morning by the shore, Sol finds a man lying motionless on the sand-her ex-boyfriend, now the successful owner of a local bakeshop. Her instincts as a nurse take over, and with trembling hands and a desperate heart, she brings him back to life. What begins as an act of saving soon turns into something deeper-rekindled emotions, unfinished confessions, and the fragile dance between forgiveness and love. As they navigate through unspoken truths, unhealed wounds, and the pull of destiny, Sol learns that sometimes, life gives second chances not to relive the past-but to finally make peace with it.

Vicente remembers the lights that shone within the city he was born in, and the darkness he and his family have been dragged through in his eighteen years of life. Having jumped from home to home the moment he was born, he prays, he hopes for a place he can settle down in, as bright and beautiful as his birthplace. This is the biography of a boy who cannot fit in, forced to take up the role of caretaker of his younger siblings, too good to be bad and too bad to be good - unremarkable, insignificant, malcontent with his malcontent. This is a telling of family, love, friendship, good food and home.
