The story isn't just an eerie fiction supernatural horror - it's a psychological mirror of something real and deeply human.

Erin's reflection, acting on its own, can symbolize the feeling of losing your sense of self - how easily we can become strangers to ourselves.
The mirror could also represent control - something in your life that slowly takes over when you ignore it. This mirrors how toxic thoughts, abusive relationships, or unhealthy habits feed on focus and fear. The more energy you give them, the more they consume - until you're the one trapped behind the glass.
Part 2: It reflects the idea that we can inherit others' pain if we're not careful - emotional hauntings passed from one person to the next. Also, it's about the danger of trying to save someone who has already surrendered to their darkness, only to be dragged in yourself.
