The evening sun cast a warm, golden glow over the playground, streching long shadows behind the swings. The air filled with the sweet scent of flowers. The young boy hopped towards the park enjoying the cloudy sky which had a hint of orange and pink. He quickened his pace, excitement bubbling up as he ran towards his favourite spot, sand pit. But-
The very next moment I paused mid-stride, my eyes landing on a little girl. She was sitting on my favourite spot, intently building a sand castle with her mini bucket, and I felt possessiveness rushing inside me. Why was she playing with my sand?
I plopped down beside her, not bothering to greet her or ask permission. I begin to dig and build, my own tools and toys scattered around me. The little girl didn't seem to notice me, too engrossed in her own world. We played quietly, the only sounds being heard were the scraping of our tiny shovels and chirping of birds.
As the time goes by sun also started to set. It peeked out almost playfully, like bidding goodbyes to all of us before his friends takes over the sky. I heard my name being called making me look up to see my mom waving at me calling me "tae-ah! its time to go". I stole one last glance over the girl, who was still engrossed with her sand creation, and then back at my mom. Without a word I gathered my stuff and stood up giving that little girl one last glance before running to my mom. I held her hand and skipped along beside her.
"Tae-ah" my mom called and i turn my head to look at her. "Tae you picked someone else's toy from the playground" she said before showing me a blue colour shovel with a name engraved on it- 'Yoon'"
Little did anyone know that our paths will interwine again, no, merge as one.
