A Gambit For His Soul

Cleo Anderson would rather jump off a cliff than ever have anything to do with her ex-best friend, Aster Blackwood.

Once inseparable, their relationship has now become almost nonexistent.

While Cleo's life orbits around the beauty of figure skating, Aster's world is a cold, precise one centered around being a chess prodigy.

Their contrasting worlds only pull them further apart. They both claim they hate each other. Or maybe Cleo does. But Aster? His feelings for her are teetering on the edge of madness.

---

After a trap set by both their parents, Cleo finds herself once again in the house of her worst enemy. Instead of the confrontation she expects, Cleo is met with his death-and the weight of every word left unsaid.

Granted a second chance by Death itself, Cleo must save the boy she once knew from a path of destruction, all while slowly dying herself.
