Avalon Tailor doesn't have a "normal" life, not even close. It's nearly impossible for her to when you take the fact that her family are merfolk -- that live on land, no less -- into consideration. But just as she was beginning to accept her differences and once again enjoy life as she used to, all hell broke loose. 

She's kidnapped by her estranged grandmother on behalf of the Queen. She finds herself with no choice but to fight the leader of an unfamiliar type or mer. Her increased powers pose a threat to her life. A species lost in time returns, destroying everything in its path. A war is coming, and she is the cause.
