At birth, you are devised into two groups. The Tamers and the Wilds. At the young ages of 3, 4, and 5, a Tamer and a wild are assigned to each other, becoming "Soul Mates".
If you are a Tamer, you're mostly human, and have the ability to control, or rather, "tame" your partner, a Wild. If you are a Wild, then you are a mutant assigned to your partner, a Tamer.
