The Academy of darkness and light

It all happened when a war broke out and the humans were killed by ghost-ly creatures.
And almost every living creature was scared and gave up on life. But there where 9 families that made a deal and fought back. After 18 years of fighting, the humans finally won but the 9 families had to pay a price.
There humanity.
They turned into creatures aswell like the bangs became werewolves, the Lee's became jins, the seo's became ghost hunters, the hwang's became sirens, the han's became vampires, the Lee's became angels, the kim' became witches/wizards, the yang's became demons and lastly the choi's became heretics.
But the 9 founder families had 1 wish granted as mercy for losing their humanity but that wish would only be ,,activated" when there followers reached 18, so they all decided that when a creature turned 18 they shall have a mark on their skin which bindes them to another creature, so in other words they have soulmates.

In which 2000 years later the creatures increased alot and there is even a school for them, AODAL: Academy of darkness and light. The founder families got crowned as kings and queens, so they decided that it wouldn't make sense that 9 families share one castle. In the end they decided that every family got a part of the kingdom.
