When Seraphina Winchester joins her brothers, Sam and Dean, on a hunt in the misty town of Forks, Washington, she expects nothing more than another case of strange deaths and supernatural secrets. The so-called "animal attacks" in nearby Seattle lead the trio to the quiet coastal town-where the rain never seems to stop, and every shadow feels like it's hiding something.

While posing as reporters, the Winchesters cross paths with Chief Charlie Swan and a man named Billy Black-someone who sees right through their lies. Billy's wary eyes and quiet warnings hint at a deeper truth, one that runs through the heart of the La Push reservation. When Seraphina is invited to a tribal bonfire, she's pulled into a story older than she could imagine-and into the orbit of Paul Lahote, a member of the Quileute pack.
