Keyla is a girl who has always lived in an orphanage in Florida. But because of her heterochromia, she was ridiculed by everyone, calling her a freaks and a mutant. Despite this, she pursued her passion for dinosaurs. By the age of 6, she could name all the different types of dinosaurs, which, however, was also a reason of ridicule. But one day she found a dinosaur egg on the river bank which she took care of and which soon hatched into an albino atrociraptor which she named Snowflake. They soon formed an extraordinary bond that made Keyla understand dinosaurs better and better. Which soon attracted the attention of a woman dealing in dinosaurs who appointed Keyle as her dinosaur trainer.

Nyima and her athletic older sister Yazmina get the chance to go join Camp Cretaceous, but most people don't know much about her as she is very secretive. One of the differences between the sisters is that Nyima is absolutely curious about new things, but she also loves helping animal conservations, as she also gets to travel a lot because of her sister and her sponsorships. Another difference is that Nyima has blue hair while her sister has black raven hair. Nyima is secretly a Dinosaur fan, but her favorite Dinosaur is the Velociraptor. Her second being the Tarbosaurus. So, when she meets Phoenix Grady, who works with the Velociraptors she can't help but ask questions. She also becomes quick friends with Brooklynn as they both love a good mystery and that their hair colors are different colors too, she also becomes quick friends with Darius who loves Dinosaurs just like her.
