At least that is what the world believed.
You see, while humanity continued with its blissful ignorance, the Hargreeves siblings awoke in their respective homes. Alive, intact, and deeply confused. Every memory of what they thought was the end still lingered, like a bad dream that refused to fade. It appeared the universe had done what it does best... hit "reset."
Only this time, it hadn't done so cleanly.
Because alongside the seven familiar disasters known as the Hargreeves, there now existed an eighth anomaly: Y/N Ashford
A global icon. CEO of Ashford Enterprises. And, though she didn't it at the time, one of the seventeen children born under extraordinary circumstances on the twelfth hour of the first of October, 1989
The problem? Miss Ashford had no recollection of this rather important detail. Before all this, she was just a small- town girl from Texas. Average life, average dreams, and absolutely no connection to the sort of cosmic nonsense that tended to follow the Hargreeves around.
Some would say that Y/N Ashford was the reason The Cleanse failed. The one variable that threw off the balance, the crack in the cosmic equation. With her face plastered all over the city, it wouldn't take long for the Hargreeves to figure out why the world didn't end this time.

The only thing that kept Five going when he was gone was the thought of seeing Maddie again.
