Lenora Rainn had one motivation, she wanted to win. A warrior princess on the run after her kingdom was in ruin she travelled across continents to see her childhood friend Azlan Kashmiri the only son of a bookkeeper and land lord of Fillmore Manor Ayaad Kashmiri. Bestowing secrets of her own Rainn spends some time uncovering the secrets of Fillmore Manor. The last time she saw Azlan they were ten and twelve. Lost in the woods and both on horseback. After her knights had retrieved her she never saw him again. She knew he'd be safer without leaving a trace. Azlan has spent the better half of a decade wondering if Lenora the princess he spent his days with was merely a figment of his imagination. The latter half he spent at Knight training school, one day hoping to return to the Rainn kingdom. Now here in flesh and blood he can't help but wonder what her motives are at Fillmore Manor.

Raine Whispers has always lived their life in quiet routine-early mornings, long shifts behind the stove, and the occasional escape into the pages of an old adventure novel. They pride themself on being steady, reliable, unseen. Safe. Edalyn Clawthorne is none of those things. Sharp-tongued, golden-eyed, and untouchable, she drifts through life on her own terms. The kind of woman who can turn a crowded room with a laugh-or unravel someone with a single glance. When their paths cross by chance, Raine convinces themself it's nothing. Just a girl. Just a moment. But her voice lingers. Her smile sticks. And the harder they try to push her from their mind, the more she slips under their skin. Edalyn notices, of course. She always notices. And if Raine's tripping over themselves is any indication, maybe it's worth sticking around just to see how far they'll fall. A slow tangle of pride and vulnerability, [Apreggiated Chord] explores the uneasy thrill of attraction-the kind that sneaks in when you least expect it, leaves you stumbling, and dares you not to call it love.
