He survives, but only to face more problems: the Bourbons are still eager to fight the Valois for the throne, following Condé's failed coup. Lady Lola is still unsure about her marriage to Narcisse, is he truly as trustworthy as she believes him to be? Will Leith and Claude confess their feelings for one another? And will Bash find out what happened to his mother, as he tries to develop a bond with his half-brother Charles?
To make matters worse, the serial killer at French Court has still not been caught...
