
He found a thick pad of gauze so he tore it open with his teeth and carefully situated it around the wood, Buck crying out weakly as Eddie put pressure. "I know, I'm so sorry baby, I'm so sorry," Eddie whispered brokenly, holding the gauze tightly. "I like that," Buck breathed, eyes roaming a bit listlessly as he grew dizzy. "Like you callin' m' baby." Eddie swallowed back a sob, shaking his head. "I'll call you baby for the rest of our lives, so you better stay with me, you understand Evan Buckley? We're supposed to have time, I'm supposed- we- I was going to do this right, you deserve the best, I was trying to be the best for you, I needed time," he whispered, Buck smiling faintly. Or Eddie kept putting off telling Buck he loved him. He wanted to be worthy of Buck's love first.
