beyond the eyes

Nobody sees them but her. Mireya Cortez shuts herself off from the world. Her headphones don't play music. They simply silence the taunts.

She calls them "Silhouettes", black shadows surrounding everyone around her. They whisper deep secrets and hidden thoughts, letting Mireya know almost everything the world is hiding.

She sees one for everybody, but never for herself. Mireya is an exception, for some unknown reason. That is until she meets new classmates,

and neither of them have Silhouettes.

Five of them. Awkwardly stuck together. All with sights of the Silhouettes. One abandoned train, a place where they can get away. One cramped high school, a place they all despise.

They've got the school year and the summer to work this out.
