Following his father's death, Zack is sent to Gotham to live with his mother. 

It's here, he begins a whole new chapter of his life with a new city and new school and on top of that, he has to help provide for him and his mother as she doesn't make enough to provide for both herself and Zack.

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, Zack's being hunted by Batman, but that's not his fault.....well most of it's not.
