My first class is with Cash. I can feel his eyes on me.

I can smell his scent from here as my heart pounds in my chest and my hands grip the desk.

I'm supposed to be writing notes. But having him near me is too distracting today.

I look over to Lesley, who is watching me, mouthing, "What's wrong with you?"

The teacher walks up and places a note on my desk.

I read the note. "Miss Rain, you appear to have symptoms of shifting soon. Please report to the guidance counselor. She's expecting you."
