[Based on a true story] Kaylee has no clue what happened. One second, she is sitting in middle school with her nose stuck in a book, and the next she's in the band room with a trombone between her legs. For years, it had always been her dream to join the band. After moving to a new town and learning about a marching band, she struggles through her eighth grade year trying to settle on the instrument that is right for her. After four failed attempts with no luck, her teacher throws the trombone at her, and before she knows it, she's out on the high school football field playing in front of a big crowd of people. This is the story of the Durban High School Marching Band in small-town California. It's a small but big-enough band with just the right number of students in each section. With this comes just a few great friendships... and even greater drama, fights, bullying, and division. Among the students and among the parents in the band boosters. This drama is at its peak early in the season, a little before band camp and even at points in between band camp and competition season. Their show this season, though, is themed from My Chemical Romance's album The Black Parade. Some are so excited while others are enraged about the theme.
