When 23-year-old Autumn Skye gets promoted to be the new CEO of Maison de Luxe, a fancy fine dining restaurant, her whole life changes. She has to leave her hometown in Atlanta, Georgia, and move all the way to Santa Barbara, California with her little brother, Xavier. It's supposed to be a fresh start: new job, new city, and a chance to build something better for them both.

But things don't go as smoothly as she hoped. Not when she meets Adrien Reyes, a 25-year-old firefighter with a bad temper and a past he doesn't talk about. He's hard to deal with, but also charming, confident, and way too good-looking for her to ignore.
