Matthew Shaw has always dreamed of becoming a firefighter and now at the age of 18 and ready to graduate high school he was accepted into the top firefighter academy in the nation. However, Matthew finds himself torn after his mother informs him that they cannot afford the academy. Desperately Matthew signs up for the Marines with expectation that after boot camp he would use the GI Bill to pay for the academy.
