After the events with the Volturi, the Cullen Clan set off for a much-needed holiday home-away-from-home. However, while his family and his wife choose to spend the next twenty years in various parts of the world, Carlisle decides to remain in America and tend to the needs of those who are falling ill or seeking medical attention.
His passion for helping people in his profession earns him the title of Chief Surgeon, and with that title, he can pick and choose the cases he wants to see through. With that in mind, Carlisle's presented with a mysterious case involving a Jane Doe and the events leading up to her accident. Unfortunately, she remains trapped in a coma for some time, until she awakens with a million questions. Carlisle has grown attached to the mysterious woman, believing the universe brought them together.
