Wizarding World: The Marauders
Regulus Black had learned that there was only one person he could trust, himself, his parents were loving enough but harsh, his brother was a rebel and a prankster, his house elf could only aid him so much. That is why after the death of his mother, he made hard choice, he had to save the family name, everyone warned him against it, some of his housemates said he was just too young and not ready, his brother told him he was out of his mind, that he had no idea what he was getting into, but he didn't listen, he could only trust himself, not any of them. But soon enough he learned they were right, one of them was right, it wasn't what he thought, he was helping a monster, he couldn't just do nothing, he had a choice to make, he could keep just trusting himself, or for once he could trust someone, for once not be alone facing the danger ahead. "I shouldn't even be alive. For all intents and purposes I should have died that night in the cave but I didn't, and I can't help but think it was for a reason. I know what I have to do, and I know it is the right thing to. I will not betray you, I will not kill you, I will not save you either, I will not give you what you think you deserve. My choice is easier: I will not give up on our family. The rest is entirely up to you." -- Regulus Black lives and builts himself a life from the ruins of his family name, taking over as Potions teacher he reconnects with old friends, finds new ones and swears to himself to try and protect future generations from his own fate. In the summer of 1993 his own brother throws a wrench into the peaceful tranquility of his life, Sirius always had a talent for the wrong kind of trouble.
