Sonic and friends has been doing perfectly fine for the past years, even though Sonic started to have some identity issues since fans had judgmental and expectations of how he acts now (and with his games now) but his friends help him and make him feel happy with himself.
Suddenly one day during a battle, Eggman used some strange energy of power that cause the whole team to pass out then suddenly each waking up in their own white patted room that was in a secret facility.
Dr. Kurro, his daughter, Bee, Gerald robotnik, Eggman and Agent Stone were in charge of the entire facility, with some extras involved. they kept the team in for days, for deadly challenges and games and experimenting for tests, each one of them having more sanity loss by the passing days as the deadly challenges go on. And Gabby and Shadow has to work with their own demons to get through. What's really happening in the control of the facility? Will Sonic and friends escape, or they'll just end up trapped and driven mad?
TW Warning does contain gore, violence, suicidal behavior, maybe SH (self harm) body horror, abuse, trauma, REALLY toxic and large age gap relationship

When Sonic is assigned to join Shadow's team on a classified mission, things quickly start to spiral out of control. Third book in: Sonic Running. Exposing G.U.N may not have been such a good idea. When two new, time traveling, heroes appear with dire news, it seems defeating G.U.N may have been a mistake. A bigger evil is on its way. What's more, when a dog by the name of Cliff informs Sonic and friends about something called the 'Chaos Emeralds', it becomes deadly apparent this new evil is somehow connected. In a race against Eggman and Time itself, the heroes journey across the world to find these brilliant jewels. Little do they know, this evil lives within the Fastest Thing Alive. After all, Sonic's tipped the first domino and it was the kind of race even he couldn't outrun. Sonic The Hedgehog: On The Run.
Second book in: Sonic Running. One child was forced to grow up way too fast, the other was never allowed to be one in the first place. A year after the Freedom Fighters disbanded, Eggman returns with a vengeance. To make matters worse, Cream and Vanilla mysteriously disappear, but they aren't the only ones. On top of that, the Commander of G.U.N seems to be losing a grasp on what really matters and Shadow discovers the military may be more connected to his past than he ever realised. Sonic's saved the world multiple times, with the help of his friends. But protecting the world from harm becomes a whole lot harder to do when the military's against you. And Knuckles knows, his best friend might just be the one they were all warned to save. Good thing Sonic's not known for being incredibly stubborn. After another failure attempt of Eggman defeating team Sonic, he decided to retire for good. However, since Egghead retired everyone's lives have been great, until Amy has been starting to get harassed and or bullied by other boys beyond 'Hedgehog Village'. Sonic has been oblivious to Amy's feelings and what the boys have been doing to her (except for Tails' and Knuckles). Tails has been asking questions of why Sonic just doesn't want to admit his true feelings of love towards the fair sakura hedgehog. But one day all of that changed, Sonic finally found out about boys trying to do stuff to Amy and he had enough of their foolishness that something happened to him.
