With Nico di Angelo as Will Solace's prisoner for three days in the infirmary, Nico has to quickly adjust to all the attention he gets from Will, along with the rest of the camp. Nico has to deal with other people's problems, especially when he doesn't want to. He has to quickly learn how to build relationships with other campers from the ground up, and even though Nico is banned from using his 'Underworldy' powers, he's still a demigod, and danger and adventure are always at his heels, even at camp! I DO NOT OWN THE COVER PICTURE. WHOEVER DID IT IS AMAZING BUT IT WAS NOT ME. *I also do not own any of the characters except the ones I make up!* I swear it gets better than at the beginning! This is technically a standalone story, but we are retconning all of Solangelo, and this work is: Work 13 in that series. All stories will stand alone on their own, but can be read one after another.

Percy finds out about Nico's crush earlier than planned. And it's on neither of their terms. Until Percy gives him some good advice. Advice Nico takes to heart. But a demigod's life is never easy, and with a new prophecy and a new quest even darker forces are looming over the horizon, threatening to destroy the sunshine that Nico and another half-blood we all thought was gone have finally found. Placed during very beginning of Blood of Olympus/ between House of Hades and Blood of Olympus at the beginning. Then it switches to the end of Blood of Olympus. This is a solangelo story line. If you have not read Blood of Olympus, or do not ship solangelo, then I kindly ask you to reconsider your life choices. And then go do those things. I tried to stay true to the characters, I really truly did. If you're reading and you think I did something wrong, please let me know (but. you know. kindly.). Nico di Angelo- The child of Hades. He was a depressed ball of rage wherever he went. He preferred spending his time in his cabin, alone. He would often forget to take care of himself such as go outside to eat. Nobody would ever like him. Or so he thought... Will Solace- The child of Apollo. Basically a dream. He lifted everyone's spirit as soon as he walked through the door. He literally glowed when he was happy, which was most of the time. He was the best healer out of the whole camp. Come on, who wouldn't have the hots for a smart, hot, teen doctor? So out of all the people he could've found interesting, why Nico? That's what the child of Hades is trying to figure out while he's oblivious to the complete obvious. Might Will actually have a chance to break down Nico's walls and find the key to his heart?

Nico felt like Icarus. Fly too close to the sun, and your wings will melt. Fly too close to the sea, your wings will grow heavy. Nico had already flown too close to the sea. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further. He would not succumb to the light only to fall forever into darkness. He would do what Icarus couldn't. Nico di Angelo would not fly too close to the sun. Cover art by viria!
