"Is this the end of the world?" "It never began."

Paradis wakes into the Illuminated Darkness, a vastness where time folds and reality cancels itself out. Her body, a mere vessel hardwired for a linear world, floats in a Zero-State, a perfect, crushing coexistence of every binary system we know: life and death, light and shadow, present and future.

Stripped of memory, her only compass is the name that echoes in the void-Paradis-and her only weapon is the defiant will to force a contradiction. By an act of sheer thought, she tears the fabric of the non-dual reality, creating the Seam in the Plenum: a single, absolute line of geometry in the abyss.

She embarks on a journey through paradoxical landscapes, both a dystopian and futuristic frontier, to uncover the elusive Tri-System, the third way that lies beyond the Dual Systems anchored in her drive.

Beyond the Seam is a fiction that plunges into the core of existence. A search for significance within insignificance. A story that forces its readers to grapple with the beautiful horror of existing within a System that is, in the end, bound to purge you.

❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.

Every prototype technology has its risks. After an accident involving a novel robotic suit, Keres cadet Sky begins to have recurring lucid nightmares where she finds herself in a prison called Tartaros. Soon, one thing becomes clear: Tartaros is more than just a dream, and as the lines between reality and her subconscious begin to blur, Sky is forced to question her own perception of the world. Meanwhile, more and more mysterious accidents shake the city of Pharos to the core, threatening the safety and security of the last surviving humans on earth. Through her own accident, Sky finds herself drawn into the investigation of an enigmatic task force. The prototype technology, her dreams, a dubious doctor, a missing part of her medical files and a dark secret from her past all seem to be connected, but how? Form here on out, there's only one direction left to go: Down. _______________ Featured on Wattpad's UndiscoveredBooks profile on their "Need to Read" reading list Highest Rankings: #1 in Philosophy [17.01.2019] #8 in Mind [17.01.2019] #8 in Science [13.03.2019] #10 in Psychology [28.02.2019] #24 in Science-Fantasy [17.01.2019] #39 in Dreams [17.01.2019] The 10th Circle centers around questions about the human mind: what is it, what happens with it when we sleep and dream, what happens with it when we die, and what does it mean to be human and to have a mind in the first place.
