People perform confidence while privately feeling unseen, uncertain, and inadequate. Many overthink, mask their pain behind composure, or feel lost trying to find their place in the world.

This short poem captures that quiet struggle the hopelessness, exhaustion, disconnection, self criticism, and numbness that live beneath the surface. It reflects on awareness: observing internal pain, questioning it, and seeking answers that never seem to come.

Brain Matter uncovers what it feels like to search for guidance in a world that only answers with silence a rhythm of repetition, yearning, and unanswered questions.

T.D.W. 5: Masks, Skeletons & Closets

Thoughts. Words. Feelings. All of these are things we experience on a daily basis. Of course, it varies from person to person; how many thoughts we have, how deeply we feel, how we use our words. This is but my experience, shared with the world. My thoughts voiced for my own peace of mind. My words spoken for all to hear. My feelings bared, heart on my sleeve. The darkness within us all sometimes intimidates us, and we can all but hide inside closets where our masks and skeletons dance.
