''The Alcohol On His Lips'' Dad doesn't see me Then again, why would he care to look now? That's what open caskets are for He and I move in the morrow, yet, moving on from our past isn't as easy as packing up and skipping town He was the person who stood outside the shower, Telling me, in hushed tones, don't scrub so hard, baby. He hates wrapping me in his towel I was the daughter who lived within his glass But, I'll dress myself blue for him It's the only color I look good in I match his eyes Surely, if I pick the best gown He'll finally see me Right? If he doesn't, then I'll cease to exist He'll drink up I'll evaporate The alcohol on his lips

D.A.R.K.E.R Darren. Aaron. Romero. Kieran. Eli. And Rafael. Six friends--six underground rulers. They'll lead you down in darkness where your soul will never escape. He taught me how to fight. To stand up for myself. And that's exactly what I planned to do. I moved out after my mom died. I was sixteen, but my step-dad Romero, said I could come back whenever I wanted. So when the bills piled up and college was just around the corner, I moved back in at eighteen. It was the only way I'd be able to afford an education, and though he wasn't my real dad, I knew Romero would take care of me. But when I stumble into his private den to ask for money, I inadvertently interrupt him and his handsome, wealthy friends playing poker. Too late to leave, I ask for the money I need to buy a new car. That's when his friends start to bid on me. On my virginity. But they're spouting numbers that I can't even picture having a dollar sign in front of. They're all dangerous--but not even I know just how dangerous until it's too late. Even though Romero tries to stop me, I decide to consider what it would mean to give up my body for money. Except the way he looks at me, I can't help but think he's the one that wants to take what I'm offering.
