It was a dark winter's morning. My family and I went for a walk. I was five, now I'm fifteen.

 

They say, "The longer someone's missing, the less likely they're coming back."   

 

This day, ten years ago my eight year old brother was standing right in front of me. Every time I come back here I can feel his presence. Like he's everywhere but nowhere.

My breathing was labored. A lake of crimson red was surrounding me as the men in black ran to where I laid. All I thought about was Jay. Where is he? I saw one of the men raise their gun at me. And just before they finished me off, they were knocked off their feet by what looked like...ninjas? Everything happened in a blur. The men in black were being flown everywhere. The blackness started to then wrap itself around me into it's dark hold, and the last thing I saw before I was consumed was four, green, ninja reptilian people standing above me. Then I realized that they were...turtle ninjas. (This is my first TMNT fanfic, so don't judge. And they took the movie off of Netflix, so some parts are not going to be accurate. This is set in the 2014 movie. I would advise for you to read this if you are 13 or older because there are mentions of child abuse, kidnap, mild cursing, and violence. But if you are younger than that and you want to read it, then go ahead, but read at your own risk. Anyways, enjoy the story.) I don't own the movie TMNT or the characters. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.
