Peter has gone through a lot even before meeting the avengers, mainly stark, so the avengers don't know a lot about the shenanigans that Peter has gone through as Spider-Man before meeting him or the contacts that Peter has with people. They don't know either that Peter is seen as a god/king to other creatures and people
