Setting: Salem isn't the small colonial town from legend - it's now a sprawling castle-kingdom, built from black stone and ancient magic. The city is divided into seven districts, each tied to a different element or god. Magic flows through the air like mist, and the witches of Salem are both feared and worshiped. Tone: Dark fantasy - gothic, haunting, powerful. Think A Court of Thorns and Roses meets The Witcher. Name: Wendy Ashthorn Age: 19 Power: Shadow manipulation - she can control and travel through darkness. Belief: She doesn't fully trust the gods. She believes witches should master their own power instead of praying for it. Flaw: Her magic grows stronger the more fear she feels - so she's powerful, but terrified of losing control. Goal: To unite the fractured coven and uncover the truth about the gods' control over Salem. Vibe: Quiet, intelligent, but dangerous when pushed. In the cold halls of Salem Castle, each coven prepares for the Night of Offering, when witches must sacrifice something precious to the gods to renew their power. Wendy refuses - and when she does, something ancient awakens in her shadows. The gods mark her as a traitor, the covens turn against her, and she must gather those who still believe in free magic before the gods burn Salem to ash.

[Completed] Lux's senior year of high school had been carefully mapped out since her freshman year. Snag the lead in the school play, chalk up a few more volunteer hours, and ace her AP English class. Maybe even get her first kiss out of the way before she headed off to college. But her Memaw always told her to never count her chickens before the eggs hatched... a lesson she learned all too well when she levitated said eggs while attempting to cook an omelet. Now she's trading her chemistry tutor for a sexy potions master, and the only book she gets to read is her family's Grimoire. Of course, finding out you have access to magic isn't a terrible thing. Some days it's downright awesome... if only it didn't include being marked for death. Credit for the awesome cover goes to @darthowl
