Kat has never exactly loved school. (Homework? Ugh. Pop quizzes? Double ugh.) But after an awesome summer at camp and a few new besties, she's actually kind of excited for fifth grade.
Then-boom!-her teacher drops the worst news ever: Kat has to spend Language Arts in the special ed class.
Cue disaster.
Her new teacher, Mrs. McClair, is bossy, totally unfair, and acts like Kat can't spell her own name. Kat's sure this is going to be the worst year ever.
But Kat's not the type to sit back and let anyone write her story for her. With a little help from her friends-and a whole lot of attitude-she's on a mission to prove she belongs right where she wants to be.
Can Kat turn her school year around... before it completely flunks?
