Lorelei Fawnite (A Vanisher) wasn't just turning sixteen-she was opening a door to something she didn't see coming. Her Sweet 16 landed the night before junior year started, and Nevermore Academy was already buzzing with whispers about what this year would bring.

The group was close consisting of Lorelei, Isaac, Abigail, Morticia, Gomez,and Larissa. but of course she has best friends. Isaac Night, the moody genius Davinci who could invent Worlds of Copper with the flick of a Finger. And Abigail Petropolus, a Gorgon with capped Snake hair and killer curls. The three of them had been inseparable since year one-an unlikely trio of misfits who somehow made it work.

But junior year hit different. The cliques were tighter, the stakes higher, and the hormones dangerously unregulated. Lorelei wanted to keep things chill-ace her courses, dodge the drama, maybe survive gym class. Instead, she found herself caught between friendship, first love, and the kind of supernatural chaos only a Nevermore teen could handle.

Somewhere between midnight milkshakes, mixtapes, and sneaking into the library after curfew, Lorelei began to realize: growing up isn't about finding yourself-it's about owning your weirdness, heartbreak and all.

This was the year before everything went wrong in the Tower. But for now? It was just Lorelei and her friends against Nevermore. And maybe... just maybe, love wasn't such a bad kind of trouble after all.
