Defiant

Amethyst has had her whole life planned out for her since the day she was born. Chester Ramirez - her soon to be husband - is one of those plans. Her mother has had their wedding arranged since before Amethyst could speak, despite Amethyst's protests.
When her best friend - Sandy - suggests the one thing Amethyst never thought she would end up doing, she finds herself trading crowns for guns, as she leaves her role as Princess of Anarie to join the war, her only hope of fleeing from her mothers clutches.
But when Amethyst finds herself having flashbacks of events she doesn't remember experiencing, with a boy she swears she's never spoken to, she starts to question her life, as well as her newfound love with Jessiah Smith - the soldier who helped her escape and the only one who knows her true identity.
